Foraging Wild Foods: Harvesting, Processing and Resources

Delia is a forest lover and rewilder who spends her days tromping through the woods, harvesting wild plants, carving spoons, sewing clothes from deerskin, cooking over a fire and reading fairy tales. Two and a half years ago she and her partner founded a creative rewilding school - School of the Greenwood. In their youth camps they weave tales of action and adventure, where the children star as characters, face challenges, and meet fanciful wild beings who remind them to take care of the forest. School of the Greenwood also offers adult rewilding skill and craft classes in both Athens and Murphy, NC.
In this upcoming LHG foraging class, Delia will offer an introduction to wild foods found in our area, tips for harvesting with children, some hands-on food processing, and resources for further learning. Beginners and experienced foragers are all welcome to join!
